To put Lignetics wood pellets in a word they are “Ok”. I have met people who swear by this brand, but they are often people who only have burned a few brands of pellets, and those pellets were less than ok.
My experience has been the lighter the color the better the pellet. The genetics are rather dark. A few possible reasons for dark pellets are
- more bark content
- the sawdust has sat outside for a while.
Color aside, the Lignetics burn reasonably well. I am currently burning them in a Harman PC45 which is not very picky about the pellets it burns. They create more massive dark ash. The amount of ash is just a little above average.

The heat output is also in the average range. Like I said these are very ok pellets. I would add that they seemed to be priced reasonably. Some of the wood pellets that I consider good are also $20-60 more per ton.
The previous review was not written by me, and the author went on and on about the order, I have not noticed that with these. PFI rates these as premium pellets, and my take is they are on the lower end of wood pellets with that same rating.
In conclusion, these will work well for most people. You will not be wowed and amazed at their quality, but they will burn pretty reliably. They also represent a good value in that they are typically less expensive—and ok pellet with a better than ok price.

Lignetics pellets
Lignetics wood pellets are made from recycled, renewable sawmill waste. Our wood pellets contain all-natural biomass products and are manufactured at the highest quality control levels, designating our wood pellets fuel as premium grade. Our wood pellets produce a consistent, high BTU output and produce less than one percent ash. This translates to a hotter, more efficient burn, which means fewer wood pellets burned, fewer wood pellets purchased, less space needed for storage, fewer trips to the wood pellet hopper, and less waste to clean up.

Our Conclusion of the Lignetics wood pellets
We have tried four distinct brands and discovered that Lingnetics is ideal. The fire’s more significant than w/ the other manufacturers, and I will continue to keep the cooker in a reduced setting and utilize more pellets, to acquire more warmth. Plus they burn cleaner compared to other brands I have tried.
Lignetics® Wood Pellets are produced from the maximum quality, clean recycled sawmill waste. This premium quality pellet fuel provides a consistently large BTU output and generates less than 1 percent ash. The end result is a hotter, more efficient burn, meaning fewer wood pellets burned, fewer wood pellets bought, less space required for storage, and less waste to clean up. 40 pounds.
As we have been using pellets for several decades, we can say this product is excellent. They burn clean that sometimes we forget to wash out the cooker. The BTU out the place is excellent. One thing to notice is always turning the temp-down controller on the stove. We only wish we could have bigger bags as we have to transport them to our residence and it saves time.
We’ve had our pellet stove for three decades now. Every time we’ve obtained a pallet of pellets, it has been another brand. This time we have your merchandise at Tractor Supply in Topeka, Kansas. They’re undoubtedly the best pellets we’ve ever utilized. We usually must wash out the stove every 2-3 days since the firepot is so complete it will not burn right. Last time, simply to see how long it could take with Lignetics earlier we needed to ditch the firepot, we allow it to retain burning and incorporate pellets (about a bag daily as usual). It moved over a week and probably could have kept burning.

I’ve been told by my stove installer that Lignetics has increased the conifer amount in their pellets. Unfortunately this also leads to increased tar which will gum up your exhaust motor and necessitate a motor replacement. I’ve burned Lignetics for the pass two years. Two years ago, I had little ash, little clinkers and little residue on my stove door. Last year was the polar opposite. I also say far less heat output. I’ll probably need to replace my exhaust motor as well. Stay away until Lignetics cleans up their pellets and their act.
Lignetics pellets will likely vary by location. I can only speak for the Lignetics fab in my area, but they for sure do not use any conifer in their pellets.
The length of the pellets are short and all different lengths
I have an enviro fire pellet stove and the pellets are clogging up my auger.
Cannot get a uniform pellet flow, and the auger quits, no more heat.
I only buy Lignetics and am now having second thoughts. I buy 6 to ten bags at a time. I am receiving bags of swollen pellets and over half a bag of dust. I would like to post a photo but, I don’t see where to do so. I am thinking of changing to a brand that has a see through bag. I really like Lignetics, but I see no other alternative.
The best pellets I have used yet from several brands. From the west Virginia plant
A far superior product compared to others we have used for our pellet stove. Great price, too
