Barefoot is a superior low-ash pellet. These pellets are produced from fresh sawdust and other clean lumber materials from cabinets, hardwood floors, etc., from woods like walnut, cherry, white/red oak, and walnut. This pellet is smaller in diameter and provides high BTUs. The Barefoot facilities are located in Troy, Pa. They’re consistent from batch to batch and contain hardly any fines.

About Barefoot
These premium wood pellets are made from 100% natural, recycled, renewable sawmill residue and have the maximum quality control levels, leading to premium-grade pellets. When trimming, our pellets yield a constant, higher BTU output, creating less than 1 percent ash. This contrasts with a hotter, more efficient burn, which means fewer wood pellets burned, fewer wood pellets purchased, less space required for wood pellet storage, fewer trips to the wood pellet hopper, and less waste to clean up.
Conclusion
These are simply some of the best. They are consistent from batch to batch, with very few fines and consistent pellet length. When burned, they produce very little ash and clinkers. Barefoot is a step above the rest; they deserve their class. One thing to note about these pellets is that they are smaller-diameter pellets.
This means you will be burning more pellets at the same feed rate than a larger pellet would burn at the same rate. I have watched folks who sell these pellets tell customers that they will have to turn their stoves back because these “burn so much hotter than other brands,” which is not true. They merely feed faster because they are smaller.
That does not diminish the fact that they are a great pellet. The biggest con with these is that they cost a little more than the average pellet, and as far as I am aware, they do not have a pre-buy seasonal price change. You do get what you pay for, and with Barefoot, that is an outstanding pellet. I use them for my Traeger pellet grill because they are pure sawdust with no binders.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Barefoot pellets.

Have used Barefoot pellets for several years (2010 – 2020) was always very pleased with their low ash, exceptional heat provided by these pellets. However, this year (2020) we are very displeased with quality. They are not providing the heat as prior years, more ash, and glass on stove turning black within hours or operation. We are now reviewing other pellets to try to replace Barefoot.
What size are the pellets
We feel the same this year , we have been burning barefoot for 6 years and this past year we have had to clean stove more often than usual, glass blackened up , a lot, A lot a lot of creosote on the burn pot having to scrape everyday versus previous years only scraping every fourth day , not sure what seems to be the issue , Not fussing just commenting, Thank you
Awesome research, really appreciate all the work you did on this.
Awesome review. The effort you put into this comparison was evident.
