However, you love classic summer staples but are hesitant to try anything beyond your traditional outdoor grill.

An Honest Blackstone Griddle Review

Blackstone Grill

Blackstone grill is designed to simplify outdoor cooking for gatherings of all sizes; the Blackstone Griddle originally debuted as a 36-inch flat-top model.

Over time, the lineup expanded to include various sizes, ranging from 17-inch to 28-inch models, portable grills, electric table-top versions, and convenient bundles combining griddles with air fryers.

With its versatile and easy-to-use design, the Blackstone Griddle is perfect for cooking everything. The flat-top design ensures that your food is cooked evenly, while the non-stick surface ensures that cleanup is a breeze.

First Impressions And Build Quality

Upon unboxing the Blackstone Grill, I was impressed by its sturdy construction and sleek design. The griddle felt well-built and durable, with a solid steel frame and a thick cooking surface. Assembly was simple because of the clear instructions, although it required time and effort.

The grills come in various sizes and can have up to 4 burners beneath a rolled carbon steel griddle top. These burners can generate up to 60,000 British Thermal Units (BTUs) of heat.

Cooking Performance

One of the amazing features of the Blackstone Grill is its exceptional cooking performance. The large cooking surface provides ample space for preparing various dishes simultaneously, making it ideal for entertaining guests or cooking for a large family. The heat distribution is remarkably even, allowing consistent cooking results across the entire surface.

I tested the Blackstone Grill with various recipes, from Korean BBQ grilled chicken salad to Swiss steak. I was impressed by how well the grill handled each dish, delivering delicious results with a perfect sear and caramelization.

The adjustable heat controls offered precise temperature management, allowing me to achieve the ideal cooking conditions for different ingredients.

However, during my testing phase, I discovered that the griddle top required seasoning on multiple occasions before it was ready for cooking.

Versatility and Convenience

One of the key selling points of the Blackstone Grill is its versatility. The flat cooking surface of the grill is perfect for various healthy grill recipes, from eggs and pancakes to steaks and vegetables.

At the same time, the side shelves provide convenient storage space for utensils and ingredients. The grill also features a built-in grease management system, which helps to reduce mess and cleanup time.

I appreciated the convenience of the Blackstone Grill’s propane-powered design, which allowed for quick and easy startup without needing charcoal or extensive preheating.

The removable griddle top made cleanup a breeze, although grease buildup could be challenging to remove from the surrounding surfaces.

Blackstone Grill VS Traditional Grill

Blackstone Grill

When comparing the Blackstone Griddle to a traditional grill, one notable difference is the cooking methods and resulting flavors. The Blackstone’s indirect heat and flat cooking surface over a conventional grill are exceptional.

Traditional grilling with charcoal or wood chips can lead to flare-ups with fatty foods and requires constant temperature monitoring, making it challenging to manage when cooking multiple items simultaneously.

In contrast, cooking over indirect heat on the Blackstone allows for better temperature control and easier transitions between different foods.

The Blackstone’s flat surface allows for cooking various foods that are difficult to achieve on a grill. It offers a unique cooking experience that complements outdoor cooking.

Overall Impressions

After putting the Blackstone Grill through its paces, I can confidently say it lives up to the hype. Its solid build quality, exceptional cooking performance, and versatility make it a standout choice for outdoor enthusiasts.

Whether hosting a backyard barbecue, cooking breakfast for the family, or whipping up a quick weeknight meal, the Blackstone Grill delivers delicious results easily.

While there may be more budget-friendly options on the market, the Blackstone Grill is well worth the investment for anyone looking to take their outdoor cooking game to the next level.

Its durability, performance, and convenience make it a versatile addition to any backyard or patio, and I look forward to many more memorable meals cooked on this impressive griddle.
